Notes from the Composer:
The Mudgee Waltz: Duet
Mudgee is a town and region about 150 miles northwest of Sydney in New South Wales. The word "mudgee" comes from an aboriginal word meaning "nest in the hills". This waltz came from the region during the early days of European settlement and there were apparently several versions of this same waltz, all slightly different in melody and harmony. The person who alleges to have composed one of these tunes played the accordion. A duet on the melody is thus quite fitting
