Tarantella: Duet

The tarantella was allegedly a frenzied dance to purge poison from the body of one who had been bitten by a tarantula. Whether true or not, it is a frenzied dance, most frequently in compound meter. This spirited example is in six-eight meter. In ABA form, the middle section moves to the parallel minor. .
