Sabre Dance
Sabre Dance
SKU: ATG10096A
The Sabre Dance is a thrilling and energetic piece composed by Aram Khachaturian as part of his ballet Gayane in 1942. It is one of the most recognizable classical compositions of the 20th century, known for its fast-paced, rhythmic intensity and percussive drive. The piece represents a traditional Armenian folk dance, where dancers showcase their skill with sabres.
Khachaturian’s bold orchestration and dramatic xylophone accents make Sabre Dance a favorite in figure skating, films, and television and the work has been popular as an accordion solo arrangement as well.
This work is transcribed by Anthony Galla-Rini for accordion ensemble/orchestra with the instruments labelled as for the symphony orchestra (violin, viola etc.) and Timpani, Percussion and drums.
