Rienzi Overture
Rienzi Overture
SKU: ATG10085A
The Rienzi Overture is the grand and dramatic opening to Richard Wagner's opera Rienzi, der letzte der Tribunen (Rienzi, the Last of the Tribunes). Composed between 1838 and 1840, Rienzi was Wagner’s first major success, premiering in 1842 in Dresden. The overture itself is a powerful, triumphant piece, filled with bold brass fanfares, sweeping melodies, and military-style rhythms, reflecting the opera’s themes of revolution and heroism.
