Notes from the Composer/Arranger:
Catalog: rrenzo533 - Linee composed by Renzo Ruggieri (for trio and for sextet) released November 2025. Score and Single Parts.
Famous accordionist, composer and teacher Renzo Ruggieri writes:
Linee was originally composed for a classical accordion sextet commissioned by Maestro Angelo Pignatelli's CAM (Music Academic Centre).
I later created a version for the Trio Spectrum, with the valuable advice of Maestro Walter Di Girolamo. Both versions are collected in this edition.
The compositional idea is based on a web of independent monophonic lines, which meet and clash, in order to avoid excessive sound density. The melodies shift from one instrument to another, creating a continuous interplay of rhythm and timbre, maintaining the listener's interest.
Not fond of saturated sounds, I decided to write many monophonic lines that meet and clash, lightening the final timbre. The melodies flow from one instrument to the other, fostering greater interest in the listener. The harmony is essentially modal, to which I applied some procedures from my personal project "Musica Estesa," which favors new scales and different procedures for harmonic arrangements.
For reasons that are complex and impossible to explain briefly, I completely separate my jazz soul from that of the "organized" composer, but I hope you enjoy the piece.
The predominantly modal harmony integrates some procedures derived from my personal project "Musica Estesa," in which new scales and intervals are explored as alternatives to the traditional principles of tonal harmony.
Thanks to the guys, to Maestro Di Girolamo, and happy listening.
