Impasse was originally a solo work and was the 2004 Coupe Mondiale Test Piece where the contestants were required to perform two movements for the 4 movement work.
Impasse II Duet was composed in 2003. The Paris Moscou Duo of Domi Emorine and Roman Jbanov have performed this work extensively, in many countries. They also recorded the work on CD. Duo Paris Moscou Album
