Jean-Baptiste Lully's Gavotte is a lively dance piece from the Baroque period. The gavotte itself originated as a French folk dance before becoming a refined court dance in the time of Louis XIV, where Lully was the leading composer. His Gavotte in G minor is a well-known example of this style.
