 Donegal Mazurka: Duet

The Irish piece, like most mazurkas, is set in triple time with a strong accent on the 2nd beat. This is indicative of the strong step required in the folk dance, which pieces like Donegal Mazurka accompanied. The characteristic dotted figure in the melody and countermelody provides challenge and interest for all performers.
