Mozart’s “Alleluja” from Exsultate, Jubilate is the brilliant, virtuosic final movement of his 1773 motet, famous for its joyful coloratura writing and its place as a showcase piece for sopranos. A sacred solo motet for soprano and orchestra, it was originally written for the celebrated castrato Venanzio Rauzzini during Mozart’s stay in Milan and remains one of his most frequently performed early vocal works.
