A Nautical Yarn:  Duet

Known in the U.S. as Sweet Betsy from Pike, this duet is in three-four meter and provides a simple but somewhat challenging part for the 2nd accordion. The tune, which both Americans and Australians immigrants carried them to the New World was called Villikins and His Dinah in Europe. Although a part of the Western migration in America, the lyrics in Australia deal with riverboat workers on the paddle wheelers of the Murray-Darling river system.
